As part of the expansion of the North-South international transport corridor, Russia's Joint Stock Company NOVO Evolution Centre and Iran's Atlas Kesht Rivase Aras have signed a landmark shareholder agreement to create a major food trade hub in the Serakhs special economic zone in northeastern part of Islamic Republic of Iran.
Under the agreement, Russia will supply high-quality agricultural products that meet international standards from the territory of the Russian Federation to Iran, ensuring a steady flow of essential goods. In turn, the Iranian side will oversee the distribution of grain and food products both domestically and across friendly neighboring states. Additionally, Iran will coordinate return shipments, delivering a diverse range of goods back to Russia and other allied nations.
Trade between the two countries will follow the innovative Grain+ logistics model, designed to maximize transport efficiency by eliminating empty container trips. Under this system, specialized transport vehicles will deliver grain to Iran, while the same containers will be repurposed for the return journey, transporting consumer goods and food products back to Russia.
The joint venture is aimed at strengthening food security for both the Russian Federation and Islamic Republic of Iran, boosting bilateral trade, and making a tangible contribution to the development of the North-South international transport corridor – one of the key priorities in the transportation policies of both nations.
The Russian NOVO Evolution Centre Joint Stock Company is implementing a state-backed program to advance crop production, enhance grain infrastructure, and develop logistics corridors to allied nations.
Atlas Kesht Rivase Aras is a resident company of the Free Trade and Industrial Zone, specializing in the export and import of a wide range of horticultural, agricultural, and greenhouse products for both domestic and international markets.
